Dearest reader,
I began this newsletter in December and by January life shifted, here we are at the end of September and I am feeling like everything is fresh again. We are in the beginnings of fall here in the Hudson Valley. The garden is full, especially the jerusalem artichokes, our honeybees are happy and I am excited to make some hot pepper relish. The morning have been bringing a cool breeze, which we warm up with our warm breakfast and we watch the leaves fall to the ground ever so gently.
This may be the first edition of Lunar Whispers, a new email newsletter, you are seeing from Lunar View Farm. If you are a current Lunar View Farm subscriber, you’ve been automatically added to this list, but you can unsubscribe anytime if it not the right season for you. This newsletter will focusing on seasonal letters of slow living, art and the homegrown kitchen. A quiet space to share garden stories, traditions, inspiration, creativity and simple natural living that carries me through each season. I imagine it like a letter slipped into your apron pocket or between pages of your favorite cookbook, a place where we can connect and find inspiration.
Topic you might find in Lunar Whispers may include: What I’m Creating; What’s in Season (and why I love these little things); Small traditions; Off the Shelf; Shop updates; and Poetry.
I am starting here, but as with all things I know Lunar Whispers will be every changing and growing as I grow and find my way back to creativity. For a long time I have been feeling the need for more, that I have more to give, this “newsletter” is not intended for one person but a process my soul need to go through, which I invite you to join with me.
I will leave you with a quote from a podcast I recently listened to:
“You cannot escape yourself. So, everything that you want to accomplish, all the people you want to be, all start with the person you are now. And that means having to look at yourself, having to listen to yourself, and having to accept yourself; and who you are in this moment, if you ever hope to grow and become more.” ~Meera Lee Patel
I am looking forward to growing and become more, by building upon the me that has been shaping these last 40 plus years. Thank you for coming along with me on this journey, as I share glimpses into the things that I whisper and write in my head, lets see where this takes us shall we?!
Yours truly,
Ashley
